DAISY - IT’S ABOUT TIME …and how it took us four years to create a monster We knew we had to do it – A theme album about time travel and all things between. The basic idea was that a band travels forward in time, from 1972 to 1983, with the help of their crazy scientist friend. Of course the time machine breaks as the band arrives in ’83 and that is when things start getting ugly. You know falling in love and all that stuff we dig so much… We wrote and recorded a lot of songs around the theme, some better, some worse. We changed direction too many times to even remember. At some point, and I don’t remember if it was before our after our studio burned down with almost all our instruments and recordings, we realized that this was a greater mission and that drastic measures had to be taken. If the song needed a psychedelic jazz flute solo we would do it. If it needed monophonic synthesizers recorded 60 times on top of themselves to create giant chords and soundscapes, we would do it. No compromises were accepted. The last four years making this album have been crazy for all of us, and we’re proud as hell that we are finally able to get this monster out. It wouldn’t have been possible without the insane amount of work committed by the band, but what’s even more important is the love and help we have had from the people who love this record and really have bent over backwards to make it happen and reach you. And so, after four and a half years and numerous set-backs we are finally ready to release our second album. And yes, it’s about time.
