Elements Music is thrilled to announce the signing of Sandja, an artist-songwriter, who recently released her debut album “Gold” through Sony Music Finland. Her singles “Gold” and “Hold Me” have been on heavy rotation on Finnish radio this summer. Sandhja is signed to Elements through a co-publishing deal with Volume Productions.
“We were introduced to Sandhja through her label when we tried to pitch songs for her. She turned out to be a great songwriter herself, and together with her mentor, Pete Matara at Volume Productions, she eventually wrote much of the album herself. “Gold” is a wonderful record with intriguing storytelling and soulful, rootsy touch to her music. We really look forward getting to work spreading Sandhja’s music to the World.” says Tommi Tuomainen, CEO of Elements Music Oy.
U.S. a cappella superstars Pentatonix are about to release their major label debut “PTX, Vol. III” through RCA on September 23rd. The seven song EP features “See Through”, a song co-written by Elements’ Thomas Kirjonen.
Following the #1 singles “Vadelmavene” and “#Wowwowwow”, Kasmir (Universal Music) is getting ready to release his debut album, called “AMK Dropout” September 19th. Kasmir is published by Elements Music. From what we’ve heard it will be a groundbreaking record in Finnish pop. More info coming soon…
The young sensation Tuuli (Warner Music) is returning with her sophmore album in 2014. The first single is out now. The song is called “Nuoruus on ikuinen” (translation would be “Youth is Eternal”) and it’s co-written by Elements’ Axel Ehnstrom together with Joonas Angeria
Robin’s album “Boom Kah” (Universal Music) has been the best selling artist album in Finland this year with more than 80.000 units sold. The album features two songs by Risto Asikainen and one by Tobias Granbacka. Listen to the album now on Spotify
Cheek (Liiga Music & Warner) is also approaching quadruple platinum marker with his album “Kuka muu muka“, that has sold 75.000 units to date. The album includes three songs by Elements’ producer duo Millionaire Men.
Finnish rapper Cheek has sold out the Finnish Olympic Stadium for two nights next summer. The artist has recorded songs by Elements writers in the past, such as the #1 single “Syypää sun hymyyn” (Samuli Sirviö). On his current album “Kuka muu muka” three songs come from the producer duo Millionaire Men who have collaborated with Cheek on all his previous albums, too.
Cheek will become the first Finnish artist to play the stadium twice in a row. He already sold out the Helsinki Ice Hall two nights earlier this autumn.
Heya from Los Angeles! It’s now the 5th day of our writing trip to the sunny California and so I decided to share a bit of what’s going on here :)
The idea of the trip is to connect with the local writing talent and to create some great music over the 3 weeks stay. This is the second trip this year we’ve done to LA and everything is going great!
This time I’m here with our producers Jonas and Hank as well as the mighty topliner/singer Thomas. Our house is located in West Hollywood, right up the Strip and this is an ideal location for co-writers and artists to come in for sessions. Jonas has setup his studio on the top floor and the view over LA is quite amazing. So far Jonas has been writing with the New York based artist Tiffany Gia, the LA based writer Koko and today the talented mr. Cameron Forbes will join in. Next week Jonas will write for example with the Estonian supertalent Kerli (Demi Lovato – Scyscrapers)
Hank is focusing this time on co-writing and producing Zac Poor’s new album and it’s progressing really well. The guys have about 8 songs ready and are now writing a couple more to finalize the album. Zac is incredibly talented so stay alert for the albums release!
Thomas, in addition to co-writing with Tiffany and Koko, has been working with the Norway based writer/producer Odd Jensen and will also write with Cameron and Kerli over the next week. For a non-native European writer, the US market is always challenging, especially on the lyrics side, so this is a great way to get some of that insight on how it should be done.
As for myself, I’ve been setting up and coordinating the sessions for the guys and meeting a bunch of industry people. Now I have to go to a showcase at Hotel Café so this is it for now!
